South Asia- I Love Bollywood
We are starting my favorite unit of 1st semester... South Asia. I love South Asian history and culture. While eating Indian food at my favorite restaurant they usually show Bollywood films in the background. These films are captivating. Up above I posted a taste of Bollywood for you with a little modern Western music dubbed in. Enjoy!

The Middle East
We are moving into our Middle East Unit. In the beginning we are going to discuss the monotheistic religions (Judaism, Christianity, and Islam). Then we will be moving into more recent history and current events. Right now in the Middle East there are many volatile situations which we will discuss with multi-perspectivity and much thought.
One of the conflicts we will be discussing is the Israeli/ Palestinian Conflict. Above is a song by Matisyahu. I think the lyrics are pretty poignant and the song resonates with other conflicts that are going on in the region as well. These conflicts directly and indirectly affect us all.
