On Wednesday we are going to learn about his rule using stations. Up above is a scene from the movie The Last Emperor. It illustrates what living in China was like during The Cultural Revolution.

Footbinding: The Price of Beauty
What is the price of beauty? Women continually struggle with body image and standards of beauty that are hard to reach. Unfortunately this is a tale as old as time. For years women in China would bind their feet in order to obtain the "golden lotuses" that were so desirable. This was a dangerous beauty trend that resulted in female subjugation (action of bringing something or someone under control), pain, and in some cases death. Listen to the story above and learn about this Chinese ritual. Reflect on our own beauty rituals and practices as well, and ask yourself what beauty really is?
